The MJDF Examination
Local Assessment of the Coursework Element
A new system
The coursework element of the MJDF examination is not assessed by the Faculty centrally as was the case for the MFGDP examinations. Instead there is a system of local assessment. The Faculty have approved a number of groups of local assessors who are considered suitable to undertake these assessments. There are further details on the faculty website. Please click here for a link to this part of the FGDP site.
How will this work in the North Western Division?
We believe that the best people to undertake these assessments are previously succesful MFGDP or MJDF candidates who have been through the process themselves. We also think that candidates put a great deal of effort into the coursework. They deserve to have their portfolios looked at carefully so that justice is done to the work they have put in. We have therefore set up our own local panel of coursework assessors who will

carry out assessments for North Western Division candidates. This will be a funded system. We do not expect assessors to give their time free of charge. The fee for local assessment will be included in the course fees for the Division's 2008-9 MJDF course. However others may have access to the system by paying a fee of £233. For example delegates from our 2007-8 MJDF course may wish to have their coursework assessed this way. Alternatively candidates may find someone from the Faculty's list of approved assessors who is willing to undertake an assessment free of charge. We are equally happy if candidates are able to do this.
